Third Stage: Case Study and Role Play

Hellowww.

Welcome to the third stage, God, it took me so long to have time to write this one. I am currently busy for Mooting Competition preparations,,, it's hell-ish. :'')

Alright back to the topic.

So when we have passed the Phone Interview Stage, we will get an email from the scholarship team informing on it and also the next stage. So the next stage requires us to go the Securities Commission Bukit Kiara itself. It is so pwetttyyyy!

The next stage will be on Case Study and Role Play. We will have to reply ASAP on the time we are available for the session based on the dates given. (Reply fast guys or else you might miss the nice timings haha).

During my session, I was all alone. :'')
.
.
Wow.. around the time I continue to write this entry.. 2 years had passed by already.. :'')
Already approaching my final year haha.
I have forgotten big chunk of the details but I'll try my best to finish this.
.
.
Case Study:

Basically, during my slot, it was done individually because maybe no others are available during that time. I was given a pencil, and A4 paper and finally they gave me a piece of paper containing the problems and questions. I was given around 45 minutes to prepare myself with the possible plans, answers and suggestions.

After that, I was taken to another room, where a female interviewer was already waiting for me. So she began to ask questions about the case study and my reasons behind it. I believe what is important is we have to deliver it with confidence you know, haha. There is definitely no right or wrong answer in this kind of assessment. They just want to see how you think and came up with solutions for the problems at hand. It is important to challenge ourselves and be creative with our answers, even if it sounds ridiculous, because it is still a possible solutions. For me whether it is realistic or achievable is not important part because that is how brainstorming works I guess? haha.

Role Play:

Finished with the case study, the interviewer briefed me a bit about the next assignment. Since there was only two of us, we are supposed to change roles about 4-5 times where the interviewer will start asking me questions, according to her role. There was this one part where she became my big boss and I was an HR employee.. It was really tough because it was a garang boss insisting me to follow her order, but I know it wasn't the right call to do for the problem we faced. So I sticked with my answers no matter how she drilled me. Heck it might be a wrong one but what is more important is, I believe they wanted to see our perseverance and whether we will give up just because we do not want to go against them. A 2 cents from me, do not be afraid to go into a different directions, have courage to stand up for what you believe in and it will all be alright. Again, of course there is no right or wrong answers for it, how would a student know answers for it haha. They wanted to see our critical and creative thinking, especially being under pressure during the interview.

The presentation for my case study and the role play lasted about 25-30 mins only and for it was really fun, and I think the interviewer enjoyed the session too. She was very nice and even took a pic of me... but I was too scared to ask her using my phone, I don't know if it will be professional thing to do so I left a selfie only that day hahah.

My personal experience:

Reading from previous people's experiences, I was soooooo looking forward for this stage as they said we can meet and made friends with new people, and there will be kinda brainstorming together and debate in the group and many more... but...

I was all alone.. One is one and all alone. :''''

My interview was at 9am, but because I never been there and I don't know the traffic in the morning from IIUM to Bukit Kiara, I went there super very gila early haha. I departed from my residence at 7.30am and arrived there by 8am.. I never knew how long an hour felt like before that haha. But it is nice you know arrive early and have some time to prepare.. except there is nothing much to prepare..and I could not see anyone else there my age, waiting for the interview too, huhu. T_T

Then, by about 8.50 am the receptionist told me to go to the 2 level if i'm not mistaken, and someone will get me from there. I was brought to a meeting room, a big rectangle meeting table with about 8 chairs, andddd 6 sets of A4 papers and pencils (I still regret not taking one home as a momento).

I was waiting, and waiting, but I'm still all alone, I was sad because I even practice how to introduce myself to not look awkward because I'm often awkward with new people. hahahaha. No rezeki what to do. :''')

I left the SC building after finishing both sessions 10.30am. It was great experience and definitely had impacted me and made me aware how important it is to sharpen our critical and creative thinking by reading more books, articles and even from the ones I do not like because it can help me understand the way they think. All in all that is it from me, thank you. ;)

Second Stage: Phone Interview

Moshi Moshi.

Congrats for making it to the second stage! (If not yet just say amen to it ;) )
So if u pass the online assessment, SC Scholarship will send u an update email in a week time if i'm not mistaken. Next, we will have to through a phone interview with SC which prior to it we will have to email/call them to inform our free times that we're able to spend for the interview. Make sure u give them few alternative times and reply as soon as possible so they can reserve the time for u. :)

Tips & What to expect?

Basically phone interview is more like a screening process where they will filter out the applicants before having them come for real interviews, usually conducted by the company's HR themselves. So we'll really have to observe our tones of speaking as they cannot see us on the other side, so make sure u sound real and confident. ;)

So naturally after the email, i googled what to prepare for the phone interview and this is the summary of my findings:

1. Make your research.
Company background research is very essential if we're having any interview with them. Basically just know what are their policy, functions, they basic infos and even who's the current Chairman/ CEO. Make also the research on the departments they have and which one that u hope to serve, targeting for one departments is better as it gives the impression that we're flexible to go with any departments without only confining ourselves to one thing (SC likes flexibility). Make some notes on the research so we can read them and familiarize ourselves with it because we dont wanna sound like reading while answering the phone interview hehe.

2.Write down the most common asked questions and answer them in your notes.
What i did for myself was i wrote down the questions i found online, and also questions from my friend who had experienced phone iv before (thank u imtiyaz & kak chap). I answer those questions with answer points in my notes. I guessed that was what really helped me when i was panicking for my phone interview when i felt so clumsy and serabut, i just flipped the page, scanned the points and answer the questions. You can use notes u know, u'll not get the chance in real-life interview haha so let's make the most out of it.  ;'')

3.Elaborate the answers.
Well, of course we dont wanna give a one sentenced answer for all the questions even when they asked they simplest questions. The interviewer will actually let us talk and wont interrupt us until we finished answering. So just go all out for it, but make sure u dont go to far or too long because that wont be nice also hoho.

4.Relate everything with SC hahaha.
Idk why i think this is funny but i read about this tips and actually think it helped. For example:
-...... which i believe these qualities i possessed are what/in-line with what SC want in their scholars which are students who have good leadership skills and strong academic performance.
-(how u see urself in 5 years) ........ and if i got the chance to serve SC in the future insyaAllah,  i would be honored if i can serve in the .... Deptartment or even .... as that's where and what i believe i can contribute best to SC.
(i know it sounds like 'bajet' but why not? because that's how i see myself in 5 years :) )

5.Treat the interview like a conversation.
Engage with the interviewer, they can hear u know if we are reading or scared etc. So treat it like they are in front of us, like talking to someone, but in a formal manner. Emphasize on the points that we want them to know about us. Dont be overconfident but also just layout the points for and-this-is-why-u-should-choose-me hahah.

6. Practice!
Make a mock phone interview with urself or get a friend to help even once or twice (the more the better). I sure guaranteed it can help u with the flow of answering the interview. Trust me hehe.

My Experience:
I was kinda free that week because a lot of my classes got cancelled were already informed a week earlier.. so everyday during the time i expected them to call me i'll sit at my study table in my room, with no one inside my room but it was already Thursday but they didn't call me yettt hahahaha i was so scared they missed my name or i gave the wrong phone number. I couldn't even go anywhere because i'm scared they'll call me when i don't have my notes. :'') Even on the Friday (last day),, until the lunch time,, i still haven't gotten the call T^T, i made up my mind if it's already 3.30pm, i'm going to call them straightaway haha.

On that particular Friday, i happened to have two submissions to pass up and they were some probs during the compilations of my group mates works so i was editing and finishing them during the lunch break at the campus's surau.. so, it was at 2.30pm when i got the chance to perform the Zuhr prayer... and guess what... yes guys... yes... they called in when i was praying T^T! luckily i was already in my final rakaat, so i speed the things up, baca wajib je :3, and run to my bag, panicked-ly search for my notes, i was so scared i missed the call, (they already inform earlier that they'll only call twice, so if we don't pick it up= bye2 scholarship).

There were some people in the surau,, they were all quiet, i'm still in my telekung,, almost cried searching for a comf. spot so i can "brag & promote"  my achievements, and everything.. in english.. it was so embarassing, when i picked up the phone i couldn't catch my breath,, i choked a few times as i was answering the call... i felt like it went so bad but i tried to answer with my best..
The conversation lasted about 15 minutes... felt like forever for me.. ;_;

U know what, i cried after that, hahahaha, i went to my bestfriend, Syazalia's room,, wake her up just to tell her about it.. after that the tears just couldn't stop flowing.. it was because i thought i could have done it better if i was not at the surau.. i felt like i wasted my one in a million chance so i couldn't stop crying afterwards haha probably because i want one so bad and this is the one and only chance i got.. even writing this made me all-teary haha..

However, Alhamdullah i got an email about a week later informing i was eligible for the next round.. i was very thankful at that time that God gave me another chance to continue my journey and i was all out again for it after that. :'')

Hehe, so i guess that is all i have to share for the phone interview stage.  Remember to take a deep breath and stay calm hehehe. :"")

Wishing u the best for this stage! <3

First Stage: Online Assessment

Hi, welcome to the first part of the SC Scholarship Interview Stages.

So basically if u made it through the application process (and congrats if u do!), SC Scholarship Team will send u an email informing on this matter. The first stage will be to complete a general intelligence test. Don't worry they will attach all the info related and also the sample questions and how to answer them so we'll know the pattern and are able to make some practice first before actually answering the questions. We have to answer this test as a pre-requisite. This assessment is designed to help assess our learning ability in picking up and retaining new skills.

Tips:

1. Do as much practice as u can, even using the same easy sample questions.
When i flopped my Yayasan Khazanah fricking-hard-i-almost-cried-test, i made up my mind if i ever get the chance again i'll practice first no matter how easy it might seems. (I swear Khazanah's test only wants geniuses and i'm no genius i'm just a a "hard-working" person hhuhuhu).
So i tried doing the samples over and over again and even make my own questions based on that pattern, which really helps a lot.

2. Make sure u're in a quiet surrounding with good internet connection. They'll give us some time to finish the test, so find the spot we're comfortable to do it.. it'll definitely affect our performance.

3. Use a mouse! hahaha, if u're using laptop to complete the test, go get a mouse! it'll be a big help as this test evaluates our speed and accuracy in answering those questions. (maybe because i personally think that mouse will be better to click move the pointer faster and more accurate hehe) But it's up to ur preference. :) *Tq Khadijah Hanani for lending me ur mouse, much love. <3

4. Do it by yourself. Be honest,, no good comes out if u cheats, u might have steal the chance of someone more qualified. I know u can do it, ganbate kudasaiii!!

4. Relax,, take a deep breath before starting, drink some water and go to toilet first if u need. And also make some prayers before that, may God help to ease ur test. :)

I guess that's all i have to say for my experience and tips for this stage, hope this can help ur preparation. Goodluck! <3

Securities Commission Scholarship 2018 Interview - Experience and Tips

Hi, greetings everyone. ^_^

So, for this entry I'm going to recap my experiences throughout the whole interview process and you can click the link for each stages for more details and tips. I've been planning to write this since the first stage as they are no recent blog post on this matter. I started writing this after the third stage but probably release this much later, hopefully before next application opened hehe. >_<

Friendly reminder this is my personal experiences and point of views, there might be mistakes and might not contain the contents you expected but I sure certainly hope this will help you guys out in the future. I just thought to be able to go this extend was not easy so I might have done something right and I am glad to share it with you guys hehe. :)

Before i begin, for your information, Securities Commission Scholarship is one of the most prestigious scholarships in Malaysia. I was told that it provides a very good care for its scholars and is also very generous in its sponsors as well as a guaranteed job afterwards. So if you have are eligible to apply, grab ur chance to apply for it straight away! :D

Firstly, when I applied for this scholarship I was already in the 2nd Semester of my studies in IIUM and i used my first semester results for the application . So even if you did not have the chance to apply after SPM or after your foundation/matriculation, you can always just use your first semester result or any latest semester results as stated in the scholarship advertisement.
Better late than never guys. :3

So there are a total of 5 stages (hell that was long process haha) for the 2018 batch of applicants for the Securities Commission Scholarship Award.

(i will include the links once i finished them- might take some time)

First Stage: Online Assessment
Second Stage: Phone Interview
Forth Stage: Interview Session
Fifth Stage: Parents Interview @ Chat Session (ikr, they're very serious about this)

I sent the application on 16th April 2018 (the last day lol) and the result was announced in the 3rd week of Jul. (i told ya it was a long process.. so patience and perseverance is very important).

My overall experience for the process was genuinely amazing, I felt honored to be given the chance and gained so much new things as well as what to be improved in the future. All the stages need preparation (please prepare) and never underestimate anything no matter how small it might look.
I also personally want to thank these amazing people for their writings on Securities Commission Scholarship Interview which undeniably had helped me a lot throughout the stages. You can also check them out for more tips and perspectives :

My advice is that never prepare your application in the last minutes as they are many little things to be done other than filling out the blanks. You'll need to find 2 persons for the recommendation section (i had my high school teacher and lecturer for it, thank u very much Miss Aizar and Prof. Puteri Nemie) :). Basically u just need few of their infos to fill in the blanks, but make sure u have their permissions first hoho ;). You'll also need to upload pdfs of certified copies of few documents, so prepare them early so u have some ample time for the office to do it in case they're busy (i got it on the last day because of some complications, it was so bad i had to run everywhere please don't do it T^T).

Alright, i guess this is all the overview for the scholarship application, please help yourselves with the entries linked above. I hope these will help u in the preparations someway somehow.

Wishing u all the best! :)

Racing against Time..

Hello everyone.

Hope everyone is doing great. I'm kinda sad with my performance of publishing new entries. :3 Everyday, in my head, i always have something to share, but i just couldn't commit myself to sit down in front of the laptop and write them. i actually have few saved drafts which I never had the chance to finish yet.. :(

I hope i can just discipline myself to write at least 30 minutes a week,, yeah had to put lower target because before this I had tried put higher target but it overwhelmed me and i just felt so sucked when i couldn't do it haha.

You have no idea how many stuffs i wish i wrote here hahaha.. Here are some things i wish to write and publish,, and hopefully it will be published.. :3

1. Updates on Law Student Life- Studies, Mooting, etc.

2. Book Reviews- I started to develop real interest in reading books and actually finish reading them like about 2 years ago and i just hope i can share how amazing they are so you can read them toooo!

3. Anime Movie Reviews- This is kinda a new interest and interest of mine--- but i have sooo muchhh to share about them and how some actually affected and inspires me hewhew.. :")

4. Movie Reviews- This one is for all those amazing movies out there that really deserve all the recognition that can give haha! or even for the ones that i think should not even supposed to be released. :3
I actually thought this when i watched 12 Angry Men, Odd Life of Timothy Green, Temple Grandin & Shawshank Redemption where i hope more people actually talk about these movies instead of the mainstream and famous ones (eventhough i enjoy them too). :)

5. Things i enjoy- Painting, Colouring, Piano, Musics, etc.

6. My experiences on certain events that i think can help other people who also face and experience them too -or maybe just to remind myself of the events that i shouldn't forget. :)

7. My opinions on issues that i think i wanna give my opinions even though i don't have to but in my opinion they are just  my opinions. :")

Note to myself:-
Girl, i just hope u actually write them all because some day u might just wanna look back to all these amazing stuffs and remind yourself that u should be thankful for having such a wonderful life despite all the ups and downs u went through.. because i think everyone need something to refresh their minds and keep them moving forward and i hope u always remember yours. :)

Okay so that is all from me today, i actually want to continue writing another entry after this just because i have the mood right now (but not nec. finish them) hehe.

Till next time!  :)

CFS IIUM- Law Foundation Life & Tips (Part II )

Assalamualaikum and halo halo everyone, :3

Hahah, at the point of time drafting this I'm already in the second half of my first sem first year in Aikol (Ahmad Ibrahim Kuliyyah of Laws- IIUM Law Kuliyyah). Thought of writing something new and then realized I haven't wrote anything for the second part that I planned on the sharing of CFS life and tips. So basically I'm just going to share on time and study management in CFS.

OKAY FIRST OF ALL A LITTLE DISCLAIMER: I am not a PERFECT time manager but I hope this can help you out a bit especially if you are a PROCRASTINATOR like me. >_<

Okay honey, of course some of you might already know that class schedules in university/pre-university are not too packed, but behold, lots of us actually failed to take the benefit and actually perform worse in their studies than before..

1)Course Outline

This is a tips I got from a First Class Honour laws graduate, he said that the first thing that you should do when you enter the first class in the semester is to ask the lecturer for the subject's Course Outline. Basically in the Course Outline, the department had made the study plan of topics and time allocation for the lecturers and students to follow so that everyone can be on the same track (well theoretically). So with this C.O., we can plan our schedule to study or read the topic before the lecturer teach us (which is very helpful) ;). Other than that, we can use the topics outline as our guide to make notes and study as some students actually tends to read unnecessary materials which is way beyond the syllabus when they are panicking for their exams. Don't get me wrong, it's not that we can't read more, but focusing on what we actually supposed to know and master is wayyy more important. It can also saves a lottt of time. Trust me. Usually you can also find the list of assignments and their datelines in the C.O. so you can always keep track with the progress of the works.

2)Personal Time Table

Orite, this one.. I know we had learn to do it since forever but still, it is a way to help time management, which I personally experienced the positive impacts from doing it. There are two types of time tables we can make;

a) Written- Paper or Phone Apps

Basically it's not much work with this type of schedule. Just divide the timelines and fill in the blanks. A way to encourage you to follow it is to reward yourself with anything that give you pleasure and happiness like for me I will do some painting, colouring or watching my favourite show online. Make some self punishments whenever schedule is not followed, kinda list down few things like "cut movie time to finish work" "can't touch phone for 1 hour" or anything that you prefer to write and put them in a jar. Whenever you failed to follow the schedule, draw a piece of paper from the jar and do it.

b) Cognitive Schedule

hahah, idk what it is called actually,, what i meant is basically having the schedule in your mind to follow it. Some people, especially guys, they don't like to write it down because they don't want their friends to see it so it won't be make fun of... a male friend told me this.. *facepalm* Even though it is unseen, the significance of still doing it is to have proper plan to follow in making sure your day will not be a disaster and clumsy... at least by having something planned in your head can make your subconscious mind aware and prepare for what's coming ahead that day.

Well either one you prefer, what's important is DISCIPLINE, without discipline all of these would not matter.

Why?

The most important reason would be to allocate time for the studies, group discussions, assignments, society activities and also having funnnn.
So that all the works can be done without having to give the same lame and stupid excuses such as "I don't have ENOUGH time".
I hope all of us can take this step as a consideration to not only help ourselves but also help others who are affected... Honestly not to be bias, I state this because most of my group works, even until now, consist of these kinda selfish people.. Ya Allah, I swear to God I don't know how some of them could even act innocent about it, my goodness...

Based on my experience in CFS and people i know, more male students tend to have bad time management but the female students are not too much different.. and mind you during my first sem degree study now a lot of the boys actually had improve but some of the good nice girls before had started to change into the negative side..
Can't really put my finger on the causes but all I can say is I know that choosing good friends are veerryyy important in our college life, mark that point my friend..

Basically, I don't think it's necessary to write a long one, but I hope this is helpful to some of you.

My uncle once told me not to find my own style and pace of studying, instead of following the over-rajin people who study 24/7 or prints every cases etc., stay up every night.. it is simply because people are just not born the same..

Getting inspirations and guidance are just fine :)
But remember not to feel insecure about your style because you know yourself best,, :)
And your foundation study is just the right time for you to experiment and suit yourself in the new learning environment (and hopefully you don't feel too comfortable with those free-time or gap you have), because if you don't start finding your pace in CFS then you won't survive in AIKOL my dear,, trust me.. :'')

So that is all from me, hopefully this entry can benefit someone out there.
Thank you for reading, have a nice day ahead you amazing people and Happy New Year! :)

CFS IIUM- Law Foundation Life & Tips (Part I)

Assalamualaikum and hello peeps.

So today I decided to share some information about law foundation in Centre for Foundation Studies, International Islamic University Malaysia or also known as CFS IIUM. I just finished my foundation studies last May and currently am spending time home with my family before degree life hewhew. Well here’s the catch, when I was to begin my studies, it was quite hard for me to find latest info or sharing on the studies there which was very sad for me. I believe this info is important to help after SPM students or future students of CFS IIUM to see the overview and different perspectives of what are they’re going to study and the life there so they can make the right choice for their studies and carrier path.

*Fast reflection: Did I ever regret taking law foundation in CFS IIUM eventhough that's not my first choice and I was a science stream student?
Never!
I believe Allah has the best plan and I enjoy every bit of fun and obstacles I endure during my one-year studies. I know I'm not going to further my studies in science anyway as my love towards it is not deep enough to make it a lifetime carrier and doing law seems a good option and it is!
Optimistic is always a key to a better life and remember not to get caught with what others expect you to do. ;)

First of all, you can apply the course through UPU (for local students), usually in the first quarter of the year after you finished your SPM. Don’t worry if you’re not from Arts stream, me myself was a Science Religious Stream student and most of my classmates in CFS were from Science Stream background. You can always apply straightly from CFS IIIUM if you don't get the offer because sometimes they will open the application if there are still vacancies.

Tests During Ta'aruf Week
Basically if you manage to pursue your studies there (Amin, InsyaAllah), during the Ta’aruf Week, you’ll have to go through four important tests including the two most scared tests (hahah) which are English Placement Test (EPT) and Arabic Placement Test (APT). So, what are the purpose of these test? Basically they are to test your proffiency in both languages and it is also very important to determine the duration of your studies there and whether you are eligible or not to take Syariah Law (LL.B.S) as Double Degree. If I'm not mistaken, IIUM is the only university in Malaysia that offers this type of double degree and you sure don’t want to miss the chance.

The other two assessments are Tilawah Placement Test and Fundamental Knowledge Test (FKT). Basically both of these are used to determine whether you must take Tilawah Class or Fardhu Ai'n Class or straightly join the Study Circle (Similar to Usrah but with syllabus). For Tilawah Placement Test, you just have to read a few lines of Holy Quran text in front of the examiner and they will assess you. For FKT, it will test you on your fundamental knowledge or Fardhu Ai'n. Personally, I believe if you are raised and educated in Islamic environment, the questions are pretty simple and basics. My tips are get to know the english terms of the arab terms we use daily. For example like the terms congregational prayer and pilgrimage.

Oh my I feel there is a lot to talk about this so bear with me people, bear with me….

EPT
Okay, so for law students, it is compulsory to pass level 6 for English Placement Test. During my time, there are numbers of law student who were straightly exempted after the EPT, but most of us were stuck in level 6 and level 5, and some in level 4. However, don’t worry if you happen to get level 4, it is not necessary to go through every level for every semester. You can just do your best, then you can skip level or even exempted for the next semester. The bright sides are as you can brush up your English language skills and learn more new things. :)

APT
Haaa, for Arabic Placement Test... I know a lot of you are scared as you might have no basics in Arabic language, but don’t worry, you don’t have to answer the paper but you’ll have to learn Arabic until you pass level 2, which is for me are not that hard, just basics and I believe we all can do it if we put our hearts in it. I realllyyy hope eventhough you don’t like Arabic, just take this opportunity positively to learn more knowledge and hopefully Allah bless your journey in learning the lughatul Jannah (language of Heaven). For those who are not intending to pursue for Shariah Double Degree, you only have to pass level 2.

Okay for you who want to take Double Degree Civil Laws (LL.B) and Shariah Laws (LL.B.S)… you’ll have to pass at least level 2 during the first APT, which means you must be in level 3/4, 5 or 6 to at least qualify to take Shariah degree. You can go through each level until you’re exempted, skip level or exempted right away after your first semester. This is as for the year 2016/2017 format, the years before us they have different formats so maybe in your time it might have change too.. so don't give up and just give your best shot.

What if I'm not good in Arabic but still want to take Shariah Laws Degree?
I believe I must share this as it is very important for some people. Not taking Shariah Double Degree doesn't mean you're not going to learn Shariah laws at all. All the Civil Law students will learn about it but what differentiate between them are the Shariah students will learn it in Arabic and will add another year after graduating Civil Laws degree to finish few more subjects before fully graduating with double degree. There are other options if you still want to be more well-versed and have qualification in Shariah law like taking the Diploma in Shariah Law & Legal Practice (DSLP) after finishing your Civil Law degree. You can also be a Shariah lawyer with your Civil Law degree as some states doesn't require the Shariah law qualification to become one and we just have to take some tests. However, I also don't really have the deeper info on this but you can always read and search more. If you are contemplating about this, you can always make an appointment with the lecturers that are more than willing to give you clearer explanation on this.

Duration
Okay what I want to emphasize here about the APT and EPT is how it affects your foundation study duration. Both language classes are 8 hours per week, so if you have to take both of them, you cannot take a lot other compulsory subjects as there will be no enough time… which means it’ll drag your foundation to maybe 1 ½ year or even 2 years (because the ideal foundation is 1 year). So that’s why you have to your best for the Ta’aruf Week’s test. But don’t need to worry if you have to spend more time to complete your foundation studies…go slow but do it right okay? J

Do some practices!

InsyaAllah if Allah give the will and strength, I’ll try to write the tips for answering APT and EPT but can’t promise it soon, so you can just go through other pages by other alumni who gave very good tips and sample answer. :)

So my tips for the beginning of your studies in CFS:

1. Make friends with the second year students. You can make them your reference or mentor to give you more guidance and help with you studies.
p/s:U know a good one when u find one. ;)

2. As for the books, yes some might be expensive.. But I really suggest for law books, u buy a new one as it can be used later in main campus.
For other non-law related subjects, u can just buy the second-hand book from the seniors or even take the waqaf books left in Surau or anywhere u can find.
I, however personally prefer to buy a new one as because used one usually full of notes and highlights so it is hard for me to do my own revision. Other reasons are because I really love all the books and I find them very beneficial for future references and readings especially Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Islam & Other Religions books.
Nevertheless, I did borrow my engineering friend's ICT textbook because the price is very expensive and law students will only use it for one semester, so it's not worth it..

3. Join the clubs and society line-ups! Usually at the beginning of the semester, they will open the societies booths so you can just sign up there. No limits for the club you want to join... but make sure you are active and not just become zombie members. For academic based society, like for law students it is called MELEX, you can join the MELEX Syura Council line-ups to gain more new experiences and guidance on leadership, organization and management and of course make a lot of friends! Hahah.

4.Use the course outline to plan your study smartly from the beginning so you divide your time properly for the societies programmes and sports without jeopardizing your studies. Let's hope whoever read this will not become the person who seems active in all campus activities but then never come to group discussions, skips classes and keep giving excuses for everything. It is important we manage time well since in foundation studies as the degree life will surely be more busy and challenging.
(Maybe I’ll explain more in another entry on how to manage time properly in CFS)

Hahah, I always feel like makcik2 when I'm giving tips. :3

Okay, I hope it is enough for the introductory part, insyaAllah I’ll continue the Law Foundation- Part II entry soon to tell more about the life during the studies itself. If you have any question to ask me, insyaAllah I’ll try my best to answer it. Hopefully this entry can benefit any of you. :)))

Sorry this entry comes quite late for CFS students 17/18 but I still hope this entry can benefit others. :)

Thank you for reading this entry! <3

Why I Blog?

Peace be upon you. Well, i guess this is my first entry for my blog, hahah. So i think i'll just share why i blog, and why now.

Why I blog?

Actually i really love reading other peoples' blogs. It is so much fun to read others sharing, experiences, tips and so on. I have thought of making one when i was form 3. Actually i'm not well-versed in this technology thing but i guess it'll be fun to explore more. Finally now i have my own laptop so i'm looking forward to share more. Well, it is quite obvious that not much people still blog nowadays, especially bloggers in Malaysia whom i used to follow. It made me really sad when they are not updating their blogs anymore... and also this is disheartening for me to see because there are less updated info and sharing that we can read.

I experienced it myself when i'm looking for them, mostly are from back in 2012, 2013. With the evolution of our world now i really hope more people will come forward to share their life experiences, tips and more. I guess it's the nature of the modern people now, we are too busy. 'Busy' now can be the barrier for lots of things, which i believe we all do experience it.

Other than that, i hope blogging (hopefully fully in English) can help to improve my writing and the way i express my thoughts and ideas.

Why now?

I was in a boarding school for 5 years so i rarely even use the internet and mostly just update my social media accounts when i'm home. Furthermore i have lots of siblings and we share only one computer, so i guess not so much 'me' time hahah. Then, i just postponed my plan to make one after i finish my SPM, but i guess, still i don't know why didn't make one.

*one year later*
Haha, this is so funny for me as this paragraph is actually written with a year gap from the previous one. God knows what took me so long huhu. Now I already finished my foundation studies and will pursue my degree studies this September and decided to seriously blog now.

So I guess I'll post randoms entries on the law studies, my passion (maybe), anything I feel like writing (God knows what) andddd probably i'll do some writings on the stuff that i wish people had written them.

Hope u'll enjoy reading my blog... and let's hope my next entry will not be one year later. :)
